We had a fantastic holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Sedap Malam. We were very well catered for – the villa was a cool oasis and the pool was a welcome relief after a busy day eating, shopping and drinking. Windi was always helpful when booking drivers and also during an explained ‘blackout’ one night. Wayan was a delight – always polite and friendly and our boys loved having him around. It was extremely relaxing having breakfast prepared each morning and not having to clean up anything. Made, our driver, was welcoming, courteous, and informative and the mobile phones were also a welcome and convenient touch.

All in all we had a wonderful time and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Villas of Excellence to our friends. You might very well see us return some day. Many thanks for all your help – during the preparation for our trip and during our stay.

Well, we are back and had a lovely time, only sorry we didn’t stay another week! We all enjoyed the Villa very much and the service they provided, we never had any problems. Wayan was a lovely boy and breakfast was a treat every day... we didn’t do every thing we were planning, there wasn’t enough time, so we may just have to go back.

Thank you very much for the Champagne it was much appreciated... and we enjoyed the massages and ended up trying a few other places. Our friend had one every day, I planned to but there wasn’t enough hours in a day to fit everything in.

So thanks very much for your all your help, advice, champagne and lovely Villa – it all helped make a great holiday.

Francine and I had a lovely time at Villa Sedap Malam! It was the perfect end to our holiday! ... my last 5 nights were at Villa Sedap Malam...so the villa was a beautiful, relaxing spot to unwind after a lot of travelling. We had a hard time leaving the villa...hahaha!

Wayan was most efficient in his services and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts every morning.  Sri...what can I say? Sri was very lovely to Francine and I and we made the most of pampering ourselves.  I have had many, many massages over the years and Sri was one of the best that I have had!  She's very talented...a perfect massage...wish I could have had more! 

Thank you - we had the perfect end to our holiday - next time we will have to stay longer for sure!

They both went out of their way to help us out. Wayan’s breakfasts were great and our 18 month old took a liking to Wayan’s Nasi Goreng.

We had a fabulous time in Bali and just wanted to send you a thank you. VIP clearance went so well, it made us feel we were on a great start.  Made is a great guy and made us feel very welcome. Villa Sedap Malam and Wayan were wonderful. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, even the security guys. The eats list you sent on was just fabulous and helped us enjoy ourselves to the hilt...Just a shame we weren't there for longer to try them all!

Hi Greg, 
Just taking a bit of time to give you feed back on our Bali trip at the Sedap Malam villa. 
We had a great time and everything went very smoothly. Wayan, Sri, Maday and Butu were great to have around and looked after us very well. They are a true asset to the villa. 
Everything was easy and the Villa's location was perfect to ease us into Bali for the first time. Mr. Windi and Mr. Romi made sure we had everything we needed and were always helpful. 
Our son loved the pool and the Cot was really appreciated and saved us bringing one along. The baby monitor was a nice touch that gave us freedom to use the pool and kitchen at nap times.  
We also brought my parents along as a surprise (they had flown all the way from Montreal to Australia to meet their grandson's for the first time) and were delighted by the Villa's confort and people's friendliness. We watched, amazed, Romi organised one of the bedroom's aircon to be fixed involving a complete unit change until late in the evening with extreme diligence and dedication to fixing the problem. The room service from the hotel next door saved them the trouble of leaving the confort of their home away from home on several occasions and the food was always great and cheap. This gave Sarah and I great freedom to visit the many restaurants nearby for great food and cocktails. A special mention to the restaurant La Luciolla who gave us a perfect sunset experience and Delicious Onion for its friendly staff, funky vibe and good food.

Thank you so much for helping to make our holiday just perfect! Our holiday started from the time we walked in the door when we were greeted with fresh fruit and fruit cocktails and an introduction to the staff. The villa was kept immaculate during our stay by Wayan and nothing (and I mean nothing!) was ever too much trouble for Mr Windi. We were pampered from breakfast to dusk. This was our first trip to Bali and I am already planning another trip back with our daughters. The tranquility of the villa and a swim in the pool after the hustle and bustle of the streets of Bali was something to look forward to at the end of each day. You truly know how to add the finishing touches to a holiday. I loved the way that the information folder covered absolutely everything. The use of the phones was extremely appreciated as I thought that my phone would work overseas, but of course you never know until you try it, so for me not to be cut off from our daughters at home was a godsend. I have already sent the link to your website to family and friends as I was inundated with questions once they saw our photos on facebook!

Bali heaven!!!

On arrival after an extensive plane delay late at night the staff were there to greet us and were very cheerful and happy even at this late hour, the villa was luxurious and very comfortable.we had the most fantastic breakfasts every morning. The villa staff then would clean and maintain the villa every morning to the highest standard and were available at any time. The villa is a short walk to the shops and beach and the pool in the villa was a welcome relief from the hot and muggy sun.the privacy of the villa was much better than any hotel and so was the decor and ambience .We organised a driver for four days through the villa and he was most helpful finding and taking us to any place we wanted to go and even recommened other attractions.I would thoroughly recommend this villa to any and all.

Bali was beautiful... we had a beautiful, peaceful time. The weather was hot and sunny most of the time with some rain right at the end. A couple of brilliant tropical storms which we always love ! 

The villa was terrific, looking beautiful and everything went like clockwork. It is a very comfortable Villa to stay in.You have thought of just about everything... The addition of the mobile phones was fantastic. What a brilliant thing to do for families . It was a very personal touch that sets your villa apart from others.

The villa staff are excellent obviously handpicked and well looked after by your good selves .It was a  lovely familiarity to have pretty much all the same staff as last year.  Wayan as usual was wonderful to have around. He goes about everything he does in such a gentle unobtrusive way but with an attention to meticulous detail . He really is a lovely, genuine trustworthy young man. He invited our 20 year old son to play soccer on Seminyak beach on  Sunday afternoons with him and all his Balinese mates . It was lovely to watch ! Sri , the massage therapist is so sweet , and her service was excellent. Your security guards could not have been more helpful. I managed to book Candi the driver for about 6 days of our stay . He was also brilliant, excellent English and knew how to get to everywhere we wanted to go.

I would happily recommend your villa and have already done so to friends for future stays.

Just Perfect!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Sedap Malam! It was exactly what we needed and much more ! I like to plan my holidays well in advance and the owners of the villa - Greg and Wendy - were extremely helpful and prompt in responding to all my emails and enquiries. The villa itself is really beautiful, exactly like the photos! The staff were all warm, friendly and very efficient. The villa manager, Mr Windi, went out of his way to help us with our sightseeing agenda and gave us some great suggestions on what to see and where to eat. The rest of the staff were also very attentive to all our needs and requests. We really felt 'pampered' and well taken care of ! My younger son turned 10 whilst we were at the villa and was delighted when all the staff walked in on the morning of his birthday with a huge chocolate cake and sang to him in Balinese! He says it was the 'best birthday ever' :-) We hope to return to Bali and to Villa Sedap Malam again some day !

We were warmly greeted by Romi who showed us through the Villa making sure we were comfortable and aware of the facilities. Our luggage was carried in and we had a delicious chilled juice. Great start! I enquired about a scooter and within half an hour one was delivered to the door.It was the staff who really made the stay special. Wayan was charming and efficient. Never intrusive but curious and happy to chat. Proud of Bali and happy to answer a barrage of questions. We all were very attached to him and it was a sad farewell.Sri was also charming and her massages were brilliant. Great to see her smile each morning as she brought the offerings to the villa.   The security guys and other peripheral staff were all helpful and always ready to help or offer advice.We enjoyed the choice of outdoor areas for relaxing and the stereo with ipod connections was appreciated. The phones were a piece of genius! Nice touch and very thoughtful.  Great location in terms of access to the beach and shopping strips and restaurants.  Gym card was great and came in handy.

Wayan did a great job of breakfast and we all looked forward to him coming in... Lots of fresh veggies were used which was great. 

We enjoyed the stay and the villa was a nice base to show some Bali noobies the ropes.

Dear Wendy and Greg.
We indeed had a wonderful time, we truly fell under the spell of Bali, this was our first visit to Bali. Ubud has a beauty that is enchanting and soul stirring and Seminyak has a pulse that is unique...
We were very impressed with the villa. The two things that stand out the most about it, apart of course from the location are:
1)the fantastic utilisation of space - your architect and you deserve much praise for the efficient yet beautiful design. The space allotted to each room and facility(like the pool, bale, koi pond.  etc is really perfect and lends the impression of everything provided for yet no overcrowding. I am a keen observer of how space is used and I hate overcrowding, your bathrooms are a great example of how to provide all the facilities, little luxuries and storage and yet seem to provide all the space one could need. 
2)the attention to detail in terms of amenities provided is remarkable. All your little touches really made the place seem like a home away from home, which is precisely what we were seeking. My husband travels all over the world on work and hotels are so much a part of his life that we decided to steer clear of hotels this time in Seminyak and stay in a villa. Your villa provided all the comforts of a hotel and yet gave us the feeling that we were really cosy in our own home.
Everything else was perfect. I must compliment you on  your driver Made. He is an extremely careful driver, is really pleasant and helpful and is a delight to be around...

Wayan too was really very pleasant, all smiles and eager to help, he doesn't always understand English, but he perseveres until he is sure that he has understood what you require and he kept the villa in great shape while we were there, we were very happy to have him around in the mornings.

Both security guards we encountered were very pleasant too, on one occasion my 8 year old ran out of the villa up the road after me, when I stepped out for a walk and I had a heart stopping moment when I suddenly heard him shout after me about half a kilometer down the road, until I saw the security guard had run after him too to make sure he was ok.

In short all the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, a complete reflection of the very gentle and likeable nature of the Balinese topped up by the excellent training you have provided them...

To end, great going, you have an excellent set of villas, fantastic staff and a winning combination of elements going in its favour. I am sure you will see us back soon and we wish you every success with the villas. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

 We had the most wonderful stay at the Villa. The villas are beautiful. Wayan, Gede, and Mr Windi were all extremely helpful and pleasant. The location of the villas is fantastic and they are extremely well laid out and comfortable. Our friends that joined us all thought the same. We would definitely stay there in the future.

 It was our 5th visit and by far our best – we are actually looking at airfares to go back for Xmas.
The villa and the staff were wonderful and fulfilled all of our expectations.  Wayan is such a sweet helpful boy who was so eager to please....Putuh was the consummate host – impeccable in his dealings with us.  
It is a wonderful operation you have going....Great position, loved the easy walk to the beach and the Serinande for when we couldn’t be too bothered to go out. Also the massages at Villa Asri were superb and the beach crew were excellent – just loved them!!!!!!So thankyou and look forward to staying with you again.

Villa Sedap Malam was just gorgeous. A beautiful setting, comfortable, everything we could have wished for. Wayan who came and cooked our breakfasts was delightful and did an excellent job. The driver (Mudy ?) was also excellent and very considerate. Mr Windi gave us a good welcome and initiation to everything. Everything went perfectly. We loved the pool and garden and the décor and the attention to detail that was evident everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. We would love to come back some time, maybe with some other friends, and rent a couple of villas.

PS. We both had a massage and I had a facial just down the road at the gym spa (Asri?) and it was excellent….better, and better value than Bodyworks, in our opinion. Maybe you could put that recommendation in the book, as it is so convenient.

The trip to Bali was very nice, but a little too short maybe. It was a little bit rainy the first two days, so we didn´t do much else than stay in the villa, which was superb. Villa Sedap Malam was really all we expected and more. The photos you referred to before booking the villa really gives a true picture of what the villa is like.

Hi, We had a fabulous time! The weather was very wet for the first few days, but coming from Singapore we are used to it at this time of year – to be honest this was the best time to be in a villa because we were just able to hang out and relax, whereas being stuck in hotel rooms would NOT have been the same.

The villa is managed very well and our houseboy Wayan was fantastic. He is such an asset – polite, respectful and very helpful. The management team in general are all very good – they certainly managed to take care of us in terms of car and bike rental and were always polite and helpful!

Your information booklet was a great help and it took us no time at all to find our way around. For us Seminyak was a great choice, the local restaurants were great. We never had trouble getting taxis etc and found the villa to be very convenient for our needs.

I will certainly recommend Villa Sedap Malam to my friends and am happy to have my comments used in any way you wish.

An easy walk through to bars and restaurants, and spitting distance from Seminyak beach, we can thoroughly recommend Villa Sedap Malam.

The property was spotless, well-cared for and very tastefully and comfortably appointed. It would suit either a family or up to two couples, with plenty of room on the large veranda or around the large open-plan lounge / dining room. We found the villa peaceful with a sunny yard to enjoy the pool, and an even sunnier terrace outside the upstairs bedrooms if you’re determined to go home with a tan.

We found the local management staff to be attentive, and could not fault the efforts of our housemaid Yuli to make our stay both relaxed and enjoyable. We particularly noted the small mercies too often missing in holiday villas – the full kitchen, the free pure-water cooler, the decent stereo system and a cupboard full of (matching!) drinking glasses and crockery. The villas also have friendly Australian owners which made both our inquiry and paying the deposit a breeze…

Our six days went all too quickly, and we would have no hesitation recommending the villa to friends and family.

Here is our recipe for a Sedap Malam…

Sedap Malam Cocktail

• - tall glasses
• - measure each of Cointreau, vanilla vodka, gin
• - one irregularly cut up lime per glass, hand squeezed into glass, then drop in half the rind
• - small pinch of salt
• - fill with equal ratio Sprite and Coke

We had a wonderful time in Bali, thank you! I wish it was closer to the UK!

We stayed in a total of 3 places thought out the island and the villa was definitely the best!

From the moment we were picked up in Sanur, everything was perfect! The villa is beautiful and the staff are so welcoming! We got a welcome drink and our cases were taken up to our room as soon as we got there. Very impressive! and we were given a guided tour by Julie who was such a sweet girl! She came every day to clean and took laundry etc. She was so kind and friendly! We wanted to take her home with us! It was so nice to stay in the villa, rather than a hotel. Such a great base for the beach, bars, and restaurants.

The villa itself was immaculate, tastefully decorated and we loved the garden and pool! We loved Ku De Ta, Gado Gado, and all the other places you recommended! We especially loved 'Breeze' beachfront bar at the Samaya villas and spa.this was a nice alternative to watch the sunset, next to Ku De Ta. Massages on the beach were wonderful!

All in all, it was a fantastic time and we would definitely re-book the villa again!... well worth the 20 hour journey!

Well,what can I say,Thank you!

The villas were everything that we imagined them to be. From the moment Romi picked us up from the airport with his cheerful manner and big smile, we knew that we were going to have the relaxing and luxurious holiday we had hoped for!

We enjoyed the villas close proximity to the beach for our early morning walks, and it was such a pleasure to step back inside our own little sanctuary after shopping the streets of Seminyak! Dewi made our stay extremely comfortable, with her delightful warm and caring nature, nothing was ever too much trouble, she really is a domestic goddess!

We had a wonderful week, and will certainly be recommending the villas to our family and friends. Thank you again to the great staff!!
